The World Wildlife Fund is an organization that doesn’t only pursues animal rights advocacies but it also focuses in producing community-based projects that will help in the preservation of the earth’s environment. Since it’s foundation in the year 1961, the WWF had accomplished and is still accomplishing a lot of nature-inspired projects and activities. However, having WWF work alone will not be enough in solving the world’s environmental problems. Every citizen has his own part of doing something for the nature. If not, the Earth will end up in a horrible state, which can be pointed out to the humanity’s responsibility.
Floods, tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes and other disasters are the causes of a horrible fate for some. But what causes these things? It’s garbage, deforestation, pollution and everything that a human tend to neglect or continues to do. Just by throwing a small candy wrapper on the road, you are contributing to the earth’s slow destruction. Just by uprooting trees for your concrete project can be cause a of flood. Can you see the big picture here? Just by doing small undisciplined acts towards your environment, it’s like killing the place you live in little by little. A once beautiful forest is now bald and barren, a nice beach cove is now deformed from its charm, beaches are not as good as before because of over commercialization – all these are just few of the things that serve as signs of the nature’s sad fate.
What can a simple citizen like you do to help in preserving Mother Earth? Support campaigns, practice what you learn about preserving nature and encourage others to do the same! There will always be a way to extend your support and help, you just have to be persistent enough and have the heart for nature. Here are some of the photos that might awaken your understanding about the earth’s receding beauty:
